Ruby Proudfoot (née Reid)
November 7, 1927 – August 20, 2017

At the Hawkesbury General Hospital, after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease, Ruby peacefully passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, August 20, 2017. Ruby Proudfoot (née Reid) of Fournier, Ontario, at the age of 89. Devoted and loving wife of 65 years to the late William Proudfoot. Predeceased by her parents Roy and Helena Reid. Much loved mother of Hugh (Elizabeth), Dwight (Sylvie), Ian (Ruth) and Bonnie (Claude St-Denis). Cherished grandmother of Meaghan (Will) Rachel, Melanie (Dan), Todd, Thomas (Na), Amanda (Drew) and Mitch. Great-grandmother to Bradley and Audrey. Survived by her siblings Joan McHugh and Gordon Reid. She was predeceased by her siblings Sherwood, Hilton, Mansel, Eunice Hill, Hunter, Lorne and Jean Harrison. Proud aunt of many wonderful nieces and nephews and their families.
Ruby will always be remembered for her deep love of her family, her sense of humour, encouragement and her kindness. Ruby was a long time 4H leader and a proud Life Time member of the Women's Institute. She was avid reader, curler and bridge player. Ruby and Will spent many winters during their retirement in Ellenton, Florida.

Hospital for their excellent and compassionate care provided to Ruby.
A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel of the Hillcrest Funeral Home, 151 Bond Street, Vankleek Hill, Ontario on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 11 am. Interment to follow at the Fenaghvale Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Caledonia Community Centre, 6900 County Road 22, St. Bernardin, Ontario. A receiving line will be held for family and friends before lunch.
In memory of Ruby, a donation to the Parkinson's Society 1-200 Colonnade Road, Ottawa, ON K2E 7M1 or to the Fenaghvale Cemetery P.O. Box 721, Vankleek Hill, ON K0B 1R0 would be appreciated by the family.
